Hard Maple

Also known as sugar maple. It is the main source of maple syrup! The white/creamy sapwood gives way to a brown heartwood. Hard Maple trees have very small hearts and most of the high grade lumber produced ends up being that white/creamy color. Maple is fairly hard and used for that reason in flooring, cutting boards and even baseball bats. Trim, furniture and cabinetry are fine homes for this high quality hardwood.
